Juan Moore, MSW – School Social Worker

Brantley Simmons – 7th Grade Teacher

Character Development Program is designed to aid in the academic, personal, professional, and social development of male students. The program emphasizes encouragement, goal setting, and mentorship of male students with the expectation that they will excel academically and socially and ultimately they will become the strong, intellectual, and dedicated men that society desperately needs. K.I.N.G.S Character Development Program promotes academic success by inspiring and motivating the youth to set goals and to achieve them. K.I.N.G.S. is an exceptional character development program that offers students an opportunity to develop close, ongoing, and positive relationships with each other through group guided activities and weekly/bi-weekly meetings.

The K.I.N.G.S. character development program is more than the cumulative efforts of one. It is the realization that it is time for us all to unite and become the necessary leaders that our male youth need and desire. This program resonates strength, achievement, self-appreciation, cultural awareness, service, and love. K.I.N.G.S. character development program, whose primary focus is to instill self-worth and values, will work to eliminate the expected norms of the young black male in terms of education, communication, and responsibility. The program helps those who are provided limited resources evolve through the conditions to create circumstances that are conducive to self-sustainability. K.I.N.G.S. reflects mental and social transformation by connecting similar experiences that will assist our youth with seeking, finding, and accepting truth. This program is more than an idea. It’s a feeling that suggest collectively that we are all destined to be leaders.
